PETITIONS ARE ON THEIR SITE, AND THEY HAVE VERY SPECIFIC OPINIONS ABOUT HOW THIS APPRAISAL BUSINESS IS BEING MONOPOLIZED. THEY WANT THE APPRAISERS TO BE PART OF FREE TRADE, ALLOWED TO PERFORM APPRAISALS IN WHICH THEY ARE DEEMED COMPETENT.  WHY SHOULD AN APPRAISER HAVE TO BELONG TO A PRIVATE EXCLUSIVE CLUB JUST TO GET WORK?  DESIGNATIONS SHOW A LEVEL OF COMPETENCE. DOESN'T A LICENSE FROM THE STATE IN WHICH YOU ARE APPRAISING ALSO SHOW A LEVEL OF COMPETENCY?  DOESN'T THE EDUCATION YOU TAKE, AND THE EXPERIENCE YOU HAVE ACHIEVED SHOW A LEVEL OF COMPETENCY?  AGAIN, DO YOU HAVE TO JOIN A PRIVATE CLUB TO GET WORK IN THE USA AS AN APPRAISER, WHEN THE LAW CLEARLY WAS WRITTEN TO KEEP THIS FROM BECOME A RESTRAINT OF TRADE ISSUE- MONOPOLY'S ARE STILL NOT LEGAL, NOR THE DIRECTION THE APPRAISAL FIELD SHOULD FOLLOW.

EVEN THOUGH MANY APPRAISERS BELIEVE THAT THE RECENT LAWS AND LEGISLATIONS MAY BENEFIT APPRAISERS, THE FEAR IS THAT THE OLD BOY CLUB MAY BE TAKING OVER THE INDUSTRY. INVISION THE DESIGNATED APPRAISER AT THE BANK ONLY HIRING DESIGNATED APPRAISERS. THIS WOULD BE DEVISTATING TO INDEPENDENT, UNAFFILIATED APPRAISERS THROUGHOUT THE USA. IT WOULD CAUSE MANY HARD WORKING APPRAISERS TO GO OUT OF BUSINESS.

A Web Site Which asks the questions? Why are Banks allowed to Pick and Choose Appraisers, based upon undisclosed reasons, rather than simply hiring appraisers based upon their licensure/certification and competency  (as per FIRREA 1989)

FIRREA, with discussion from the Appraisal Union founder, who suggests, and I think he's right, that these restricted lists are in direct opposition of  FIRREA. Look at the law and his suggestions.

WE REPORT ORGANIZATIONS, LIKE THIS WHO ARE WORKING FOR THE INDIVIDUAL APPRAISER, TO KEEP US INDEPENDENT!
